Green Team Achievements
ADM Computing actively seeks to operate within an environmentally friendly manner by seeking to reduce, reuse, recycle and dispose of responsibly. Since the introduction of our Green Team, which meets once a month since June 2008, we have become greener by targeting the following areas:
Waste Management:
- Paper usage: Used paper recycled via reuse through printers and also scrapbooks. Duplex printers introduced in key offices.
- Monitoring logs and spreadsheets created and updated regularly. Monitor areas such as paper usage and bins
- Packaging: All packaging is re-used to send items out to our customers. Suppliers which use minimal packaging are preferred.
- Bins: On each floor at ADM there are now separate bins for different types of waste – clean paper, dirty paper, cans, other recyclables and general waste. These are checked regularly to ensure that employees are adhering to guidelines.
- Lighting: new energy efficient lighting installation in progress throughout building.
- Switch off policy: Regularly monitored.
- Compost: Acquired compost bins for outside and kitchen.
- Junk Mail: RTS all junk mail, this has led to minimal junk mail being sent to ADM.
Energy Efficiency:
- Nominated Energy Efficiency Managers.
- Switch off policy: Regularly monitored.
- Heating: Had loft insulation evaluated and further insulated as per recommendations.
- Push to have radiators off when not in use.
- Air conditioning: Staff discouraged from using.
- Building check for areas in which lighting/heating/electricity is in use unnecessarily.
- Coats and blankets available for staff suffering from any heat/fuel saving measure introduced.
- Use spares whenever possible.

- Electric bike: All staff actively encouraged to use electric bike for local journeys.
- Mileage and fuel costs monitored: Monthly report.
Pollution Prevention:
- Toner cartridges: disposed of responsibly
