It was May 1984 and Duran Duran was at the top of the charts when Adrian Bryant and two friends decided to start a computer business in a small, single-roomed office in Canterbury. Initially doing repairs, selling floppy discs, ribbons and the odd Apricot PC...

From small beginnings however, great things can evolve and since then the company has gone from strength to strength gaining a position as the largest and longest established independent IT service provider in the county.

By 1986, just two years after its creation, the company had outgrown the small office space in which it had begun and the operation moved to Lower Bridge Street. The new offices had a shop front with adjacent offices and a lot of the clientele were walk in customers and home users. It was from here that ADM steadily grew in size and reputation within the local community. Adrian Bryant, by now the only remaining Director, decided to look for bigger premises to accommodate the rapid evolution of their once small high street firm whilst remaining in the community to which it had become familiar.

Finally, offices adjacent to the law courts in Chaucer Road were chosen as ADM Computing's new home. The move marked a conscious change in direction for the company, Mr Bryant deciding it was time to concentrate on providing computer services and products to the Kent business community. Having embarked on a massive training program to increase service levels and technical knowledge amongst staff, ADM were fully prepared.

The company quickly established itself as the service provider of choice for IT Support in the Kent area and the effort and achievements of the company during these years was rewarded in 1999 when ADM achieved recognition from Investors in People, and were specially commended for their service engineer training program, investment in staff training has since continued with the aim to continually improve service levels. ADM has always prided itself on its dedication to customer service and this was officially recognised at the Kent Business Awards where ADM won the Customer Service Award in 2000 and 2003 and were voted runner's up in 2002.
