ADM Computing - Complete IT Solutions in Kent - Microsoft Certified Gold Partner

News - ADM Supports Local Charities and the Environment

Free Computers For Local Charities

Charities and schools are being offered a chance to tap into a free computer.

The generous offer comes from ADM Computing, Canterbury, which has been recycling PCs in its Computers for Charities scheme for the past seven years.
The award winning firm has just been offered a large donation of computers by Hugh Christie Technology School in Tonbridge and does not know enough charities that need one.

So far the IT reseller, which earlier this year won the Customer Service award at the Kent Business Awards, has refurbished and distributed computer equipment worth more than £100,000.

Local businesses and schools donate used PCs to ADM Computing which uses Killdisk Pro to wipe all old data. As a Microsoft Accredited Refurbisher, ADM Computing is then able to set up the PCs with Windows XP Pro operating systems, complete with charity licenses. ADM absorbs the licence fee and passes the PCs to local charities free of charge.

ADM set up the scheme to give something back to the local community. It has donated PCs to 31 charities this year alone. PCs are given to those in greatest need. The scheme also saves unnecessary landfill waste.

Charities helped recently include East Kent Cyrenians, the Canterbury Samaritans and Youth on the Move.

Director Linda Sinclair said: "Storage space at ADM is limited and we would hate to see these PC's go to waste".
