Suffering with Repetitive Strain Injury?

Repetitive Strain Injury, or RSI is a term that most people have heard of. RSI is really a blanket name that is used to describe many different types of soft tissue injury including carpel tunnel syndrome and tendinitis. It is usually caused by a mixture of bad ergonomics, poor posture, stress, and repetitive motion.

If you use a computer, you are certainly at risk from repetitive strain injury. It may not be a life threatening injury, but RSI has the potential to cause crippling disability and pain.

Reducing the risk...The PUK is an ergonomic omni-directional wrist rest, designed to reduce the risk of RSI and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome.

Why would I benefit from using a PUK?
Using a mouse a lot may make your hand, wrist or arm hurt - a PUK may alleviate the problem.

The pain in your hand is likely to be caused by one of the following:

  • Clicking over exercises muscles that are not intended for this type of movement.
  • Gripping the mouse tightly causes the muscles to seize up and this reduces the flow of nutrients into and waste fluids out of the muscles.
  • The configuration of the forearm, wrist and hand, with the heel of the hand on the worktop and the hand going up and over the mouse stretches the tendons in the wrist and the aggravates the nerves going through the carpel tunnel.

We here at ADM use PUKs and can thoroughly recommend them!
They support your wrist and result in the mouse being controlled by the whole arm, so providing the best of both worlds. And just as an added bonus it is made from 100% recyclable materials!
