Help Local Charities – Donate Your Old PC’s Today

In response to huge demand from local charities, Canterbury based ADM Computing is appealing to Kent businesses and schools to step forward and donate used PC’s to their ‘Computers for Charities’ scheme. Since 2000, Canterbury based IT reseller ADM Computing, has been recycling PC’s through its ‘Computers for Charities’ scheme. So far the company has refurbished and rehomed over £100,000.00 worth of IT equipment.

Local businesses and schools donate used PC’s to ADM Computing, and ADM Computing use Killdisk Pro to wipe all old data. As a Microsoft Accredited Refurbisher, ADM Computing is then able to set up the PC’s with Windows XP Pro operating systems, complete with charity licenses. ADM absorb the license fee and pass the PC’s on to local charities free of charge.

ADM set up the scheme with a view to ‘giving something back’ to the Kent community. The PC’s are donated to those who need them most and the scheme also helps to prevent unnecessary landfill waste. Amongst the many charities that ADM has helped over the years, some of the most recent charities include Kent Kids Miles of Smiles, the Crab & Winkle Line Trust and the Lord Whiskey Animal Sanctuary.

This scheme has been such a success that ADM now have a waiting list of Kent charities requesting donations. Due to this ADM Computing are asking local businesses and schools able to offer donations to contact them direct; the minimum spec for charity PC’s is as follows:

• P4 at 2Ghz (or there abouts)
• Min 256mb RAM
• 40gb – Hard drive
• Min 17inch CRT Monitors/Any size TFT’s

Any businesses or schools that are in a position to offer such a donation should contact Ana Smith on 01227 473512 or via email: ana@adm-computing.co.uk
