Background & History of ADM Computing
Founding Story
In 1984, the seeds of what would become ADM Computing were sown by Adrian Bryant and his business partners, David and Martin. Born from a shared vision to provide stellar computer repair and IT services, the company took its first breath with a small office in Concorde House Canterbury. The journey began with overcoming the challenges typical of any tech startup—navigating a nascent industry and carving out a niche in the competitive world of IT.
By 1985, ADM Computing made its first strategic move to Lower Bridge Street, Canterbury, setting a precedent for growth and adaptability that would define the company for years to come.
Fast-forward to 1990, and Adrian Bryant took the helm as the sole owner, steering ADM Computing through a period of significant change that included a minor rebranding and expansion of the staff and offices.

Evolution Over Time
The mid-90s brought about a technological shift, and ADM Computing embraced this change, transitioning from focusing solely on office equipment sales and repairs, to encompassing a broader spectrum of IT services – including IT Support and Cyber-Security Services, which now form the backbone of our business operations. The pivotal year of 1997 marked our relocation to Chaucer Road, a move that solidified our standing in the IT community and provided a foundation for future innovation.

From the onset, Adrian Bryant championed not only business success but also community involvement and environmental stewardship—a philosophy that has been woven into the fabric of our operations. This ethos is mirrored in our vision to foster an environment ripe for self-development and sustainable living, ensuring that we thrive professionally and personally without compromising the world around us.
Over the years, Adrian’s values have become integrated and synonymous with the day to day running of ADM Computing. We believe that a business that looks after it’s staff and customers alike, can maintain a high level of community involvement whilst continuing to grow and prosper year on year. We believe that a succesful business is built on transparency and trust – and it is our duty as a established business in Kent to encourage and support the development of our peers within the wider business community.
Notable Milestones
Our commitment to excellence and community has been recognised through various accolades, from early awards for our services to recent honors as winners of the Kent Invicta Chamber of Commerce’s ‘Excellence in Customer Service’ award in 2022, and our ongoing dedication to mental health and well-being, as winners of the 2021 ‘Kent Mental Health & Wellbeing Awards’. Notably, in 1999, our sponsorship of the Kent Wildlife Trust led to the esteemed privilege of meeting Sir David Attenborough—a testament to our longstanding commitment to environmental and community initiatives.
Today, our mission remains unwavering: to invest in our people, empowering them to deliver IT solutions that not only meet but exceed customer expectations. As we celebrate our 40th anniversary, we reflect on a history rich with achievement and look forward to a future bright with possibility.

The flagship among these is our comprehensive “ADM Security Onion” (pictured below) – a layered approach to Cybersecurity, safeguarding our clients’ digital landscapes. Additionally, we specialise in Outsourced IT Support, IT Consultancy, Data Migrations, Disaster Recovery and Backup solutions, as well as cutting-edge PAXTON door entry and CCTV installations. From cabling and networking to managing IT hardware and licensing, ADM has become the go-to provider for robust IT infrastructure, security and support.

Future Objectives: Looking Ahead for ADM Computing
Short-Term Goals (1-3 Years)
In the immediate future, ADM Computing is dedicated to enhancing our community engagement and supporting the evolving needs of businesses within our expanding network. We aim to amplify our involvement in the community through strategic partnerships and outreach initiatives. Internally , our focus is steadfast on achieving and surpassing our established metrics and targets. These include maintaining high customer and staff retention rates, achieving 99% positive customer & staff feedback, and fostering diversity with a special focus on encouraging more women into tech through our ongoing engagements with local schools and colleges.
We also commit to undertaking 18 charitable activities annually, winning at least one business award per year, completing all business continuity checks punctually, retaining top security vendor accreditations, and enriching staff and customer benefits. Our other major key objective is to continually reduce our carbon footprint, aligning with our ISO 14001 certification and broader environmental responsibilities – supporting our chosen pledges for the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
