This Ashford, Kent-based manufacturer with a global sales, service and support network had a Microsoft Small Business Server. It had served them well, but with the platform about to become unsupported by Microsoft, the management team was nervous. ADM were asked to explain their options for moving to a more current platform.
After talking to the Board and discussing various business, operational and technical issues, ADM recommended virtualising their existing physical infrastructure. As an added benefit, this approach reduced risk on a planned software upgrade, as a virtual infrastructure is far more fault-tolerant and easy to back up.
