10 Mar Strategic advice and outsourced specialist IT skills
This precision engineering firm had used ADM for support for nearly ten years when the business was acquired by an overseas parent. The new management team was introduced to the business in 2013 and they wanted to outsource the IT function in order to get access to a broad range of specialist skills and expert implementation capability. ADM’s service track record meant they were awarded the contract and, alongside the support function, started to provide delivery of projects and strategic advice.
After some discussions with the leadership team in order to understand the plans of the organisation, ADM began a program of refreshing the existing infrastructure, improving the security and availability of the system, whilst observing best practice. ADM installed a VMWare environment with multiple hosts and a high speed SAN. Once the core issues had been addressed they progressed to the infrastructure upgrade with LAN switching. Finally, ADM installed Skype for Business to allow the UK and Israeli operations to communicate effectively and significantly reduce travel costs.
