ADM invest half a million in datacentre

ADM Computing make additional in Datacentre Technology.

ADM Computing a leading IT services company based in Kent have continued to invest in datacentre technology to meet the continued demand from business for a personalised service.

Kent based ADM are a Microsoft Gold partner who have been trading since 1984. ADM have always been at the leading edge of information technology and were quick to identify the benefits of cloud computing in the early 2000s. As such ADM now work with hundreds of organisations who use Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud Services.

However, ADM have also tapped into a need for some organisations to have part or all their IT Systems in regional data centres. With this type of relationship an organisation typically works with a Managed IT Services company such as ADM Computing who run systems on their behalf in datacentres.  This model brings an organisation closer to knowing where their data is and how they can access it. It also allows organisations to request flexible bespoke services.

Martin Tanner, Projects Director for ADM Computing explained, “As a Microsoft Gold Partner we at ADM are very aware of the benefits of Microsoft 365 and Azure Cloud services. Every day we look after thousands of people who rely on these excellent services. However, there is also a demand from customers to be able to know where their valuable data is and have access to it.

Here at ADM we use a number of Datacentres. We run our own facility in Canterbury and use The Bunker, a converted Nuclear Bomb Shelter dating from the Cold War.

The Bunker data centre is one of the most secure and well managed data centres in the UK.

Recently we upgraded our data storage there at a cost of half a million pounds. Coming so soon after the Covid 19 crisis and with the popularity of Corporate Cloud services this may seem a counterintuitive move for a Tech company, but for us it was essential. Many of our customers have told us they are happy to use Cloud services but when push comes to shove, they want to know it is us at ADM who have that final copy of their data and systems when something goes wrong.”

Martin explained further, “The customer trusts us to manage their data. They can see the Dell servers and EMC storage devices we run. These things exist. They are tangible physical machines they can touch. that the customers have Customers have met and trust our engineers. When a customer asks, if things go wrong how do I get my data back, we can introduce them to people they know. Customers know where their data is. Customers know ADM Computing will get them back up and running.”
