Windows 10 End of Life
As you may have heard, Microsoft has announced that Windows 10 will reach its end of life on October 14, 2025. This means that after this date, Microsoft will no longer provide security updates, bug fixes, or technical support for Windows 10 devices. This also means that some third-party software and applications may stop working or supporting Windows 10 in the future.
Key Points to Consider
This is a significant change that will affect many of our clients who are still using Windows 10 machines. We want to help you prepare for this transition and make sure that your IT infrastructure is secure, reliable, and up to date.
Here are some important points to consider:
- If you have a machine that is not compatible with Windows 11, the successor of Windows 10, it is likely over 4-5 years old and may have other specifications limiting its performance. We recommend upgrading your hardware to meet our recommended minimum specification, This is 16GB of RAM, 480GB of SSD, and a 10th generation processor or higher.
- We manage a lot of endpoints for our clients, so we need forward planning and prior notice to ensure a smooth and timely migration to Windows 11. Please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested in upgrading your devices or purchasing new ones. We can help you with the installation, configuration, and testing of Windows 11 on your machines.
- If you are a customer of ours and would like a report as to which of your machines are at risk of becoming obsolete or vulnerable due to Windows 10 end of life, we can provide that for you. We can also advise you on the best options and solutions for your specific needs and budget.
- Please be aware that even though you may have some devices that are running Windows 11, they may have an older processor or hardware that does not support all the features and functionalities of Windows 11. For example, some devices may not have the TPM 2.0 chip, which is required for enabling the secure boot and BitLocker encryption features of Windows 11. We can help you identify and address these issues as well.

What Next?
We understand that switching to a new operating system can be challenging and stressful, but we are here to assist you every step of the way. We want to make sure that you benefit from the latest technology and security enhancements that Windows 11 offers, while minimising the disruption and downtime to your business operations.
Please contact us today to discuss your Windows 11 migration plan and how we can help you achieve it.
For larger enterprises who feel the move from Windows 10 is something which cannot happen before the cut off date, Microsoft will offer extended security updates, however pricing for this is not yet announced.
